This session explored the potential of a sustainable bioeconomy to drive inclusive economic growth, particularly for marginalized groups such as Indigenous Peoples, women, youth, and forest-dependent communities. Discussions focused on how bioeconomy practices can support climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and land restoration, while also addressing barriers to participation and ensuring equitable access to resources, knowledge, and markets.
The dialogue highlighted the importance of integrating sustainable bioeconomy approaches into global agendas, including the Paris Agreement, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Outcomes included enhanced inclusion of marginalized groups in the bioeconomy transition.
